Queer stories. Fearless voices. Unforgettable theatre.
PrideArts champions LGBTQ+ artists and ignites the stage with performances that celebrate, challenge, and connect.
Intermission for ExcellenceOur Commitment to Community and CraftOur move to Center on Halsted is more than a change of address, it's a commitment to the community that has always been at the core of our work, to provide an environment for queer theater artists to thrive.
As with any significant transition, these first few months have been a time of listening and learning. We are taking this time to refine our internal procedures, elevate our production standards, and invest in dedicated training at every level of our organization. To do this work thoroughly, we have made the decision to conclude our current mainstage season early.
This intermission allows us to focus on the updates that will ensure every patron, artist, and crew member experiences a PrideArts as excellent and welcoming as the community it exists to serve. We look forward to returning with a full season, stronger and more focused than ever before.
While we prepare for what's next, the stage won't be dark! We have a series of Special Events curated specifically for this transition.

What if the letters we wrote were the ones we were never "supposed" to send?
A.R. Gurney’s Pulitzer-nominated Love Letters has been a stage staple for decades, but you’ve never seen it like this. In a PrideArts exclusive, we are stripping away the traditional casting to explore this lifetime of longing through an exclusively LGBTQ+ lens. Over the course of fifty years, two people share their lives, their dreams, and their deepest secrets through the simple act of writing. By casting LGBTQ+ couples in these iconic roles, we’re uncovering new depths of resonance, resilience, and the unique courage it takes to love out loud (or on paper).
It’s a rare, intimate look at connection that you won’t find on any other stage. Join us at the Center on Halsted for a poignant evening of theater that proves that while the world changes, the language of the heart is universal.
